Doughnuts

Oh! What a marvelicious delight!
Such airy sweetness in each bite!
Its delicate shell, all snowy white,
of sugary splendor all around
those clouds that in the dough are bound,
so that devourous eating makes no sound.

But no ambrosia upon sweet Earth
can match the wondrous, palatable mirth
of one warm, fresh from its birth.
Oh! Such wondrous, celebratory taste!
Consumption just cannot be made in haste,
quick eating of its flesh is such as waste…
