Leaving

After a Lunch for some ex-colleagues on their last day at my previous employer, I sat down and thought about my last day , two months earlier in May 2007.

My cube is empty, the pens and papers gone,
as I leave this place to start upon
the next chapter of the story of my days –
new place, new people and new ways.
And I look around at my soon to be
ex-colleagues, who mean so much to me.

Despite the irritation of the job I would issue
what I need right now is dry, clean tissue
to dry a smallest and gentlest tear . . .
